Howard Tunnel Tour in York County Seven Valleys, PA to Howard Tunnel (7 miles)
Ride through the tunnel that carried Abraham Lincoln’s coffin after his assassination in 1865.
Join us on our 7 mile round trip Howard Tunnel Excursion on the Northern Central Railroad. You will ride through scenic farm land, pass by colonial stone houses, over river bridges, and through villages that have not changed since the 1700s. The highlight of this excursion is the Howard Tunnel. Built in 1838 it is the 2nd oldest railroad tunnel in the USA. It carried Abraham Lincoln’s coffin to his burial after his death in 1865. This track is all flat; there are no hills and bikes do not need motors.

Price:
$80 for a 2 seat bike. $140 for a 4 seat bike. Prices are for the whole bike, NOT per person.
Duration:
Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Distance:
7 miles round trip. Entire round trip is done on rail bikes.
Requirements:
Riders must be at least 3′ tall and weigh no more than 280lbs (Infants must be in car seat or papoose/chest harness).
All riders must wear closed toe shoes. No sandals or flip flops.
